New Delhi, Sep 15(UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited a school in Paharganj Delhi and picked a broom and joined the students in cleaning the school premises for the 'shram daan' cleanliness service as part of the ' Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign.
Mr Modi reached the Baba Saheb Ambedkar School at Rani Jhansi Road in Paharganj at around 1230 hours on Saturday amidst normal traffic without any VIP route or traffic restrictions in place for his movement .
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Babasaheb's statue in the school premises.
"With enthusiastic young friends at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Secondary School in Delhi. It is India's youth that have led from the front and ushered in a positive change when it comes to cleanliness, "
the PM later tweeted.
Earlier in the day, the PM inaugurated the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign and interacted with the participants across the country through video conferencing
Mr Prime Minister also interacted with the veteran actor and sawchhta ambassador Amitabh Bacchan and Industrialist Ratan Tata regarding the same.
