PM, Hollande to jointly lay foundation stone of Solar Alliance

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and France’s President Francois Hollande will jointly lay the foundation of the International Solar Alliance headquarters and inaugurate the interim secretariat of the ISA in National Institute of Solar Energy, Gwalpahari, Gurgaon on January 25, a top Government official said today.
The ISA, which was launched by the Prime Minister during UN climate talks in Paris at the end of November, is likely to have 121 countries lying partially and fully between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn.
“ISA will be a major international body to be headquartered in India. It will be a new beginning for accelerating development and deployment of solar energy for achieving universal energy access and energy security of the present and future generations,” said Upendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy

NCRTC launches campaign to encourage voting for LS polls

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) In a bid to encourage passengers to exercise their democratic right to vote in the parliamentary elections, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday launched a campaign for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, scheduled to be held on April 26.

New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) The second phase of the General Elections will decide the fate of 1210 candidates including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as voters spread across 13 states/UTs cast their votes on Friday. In total, there are 89 Lok Sabha seats in the second phase.
