New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted the people of Jharkhand on their Statehood Day and said people of the state have excelled in various fields due to their hard work.
'Greetings to the people of Jharkhand on their Statehood Day. Jharkhand is synonymous with bravery and compassion. The people of this land have always lived in harmony with nature. They have excelled in various fields, thanks to their hard work,' Mr Modi said in a statement.
Wishing that the people of Jharkhand scale new heights, he further said, 'May Jharkhand keep scaling new heights of progress and realise Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s dream of a prosperous and happy state'.
The polls to the 81-member assembly in the Naxalism-affected state would be held in five phases from November 30 to December 20 and the counting would take place on December 23.
The Model Code of Conduct was now in force in the state. The five-year term of the state Assembly was set to expire on January 5, 2020.
