PLFI area commander nabbed with 12 other members of his squad in Khunti

Khunti, Nov 13 (UNI) In a joint operation carried out by Khunti and Ranchi police a total of 13 ultras belonging to the Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) including an area commander have been arrested from the bordering areas of these two districts.
DIG Ranchi Zone Amol V Homkar who addressed a press conference here said that PLFI area commander Akhilesh Gope has been arrested with 12 members of his squad from the bordering areas of Nagdi and Karra Police Stations. Akhilesh was also carrying a reward of Rs one lakh on his head.
He said that from the arrested couple of pistols, two desi kattas, 19 live cartridges, 24 mobile phones, couple of SUVs, a car, a bike and pamphlet of the organisation have been recovered. Apart from Akhilesh Gope, the other members of his squad included Dharam Kumar Mahto, Uttam Mahto, Birsa Tirkey, Sangram Tirkey, Bhakar Mahto, Pawan Mahto, Rajkumar Mahto, Sandeep Dhan, Ishu Munda, Amit Dhan, Binod Saga and Soma Kacchap.
The DIG said that police had received a tip-off that Akhilesh Gope along with his squad was moving in the bordering area of Nagdi and Karra Police Station areas and were planning to execute a big crime after which police swung into action and arrested them.
He said that the squad was active in Tupudana, Dhurwa, Nagdi police station areas of Ranchi and Karra and Khunti Police Station areas of Khunti district and were wanted in more than 25 cases including those related to murder, extortion and arson.
