Players can contact him for redressal: Goel on CK Vineeth controversy

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) Speaking on the sacking of footballer CK Vineeth from his job with the Kerala Accountant General’s office due to lack of attendance, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel today said if rules created hindrance, they could be changed as the sportspersons were dedicated for the passion of sports. In a statement on CK Vineeth controversy, Goel expressed, "Rules must be in favour of players. If rules are a hindrance, we might change the rules because they are dedicated for the passion of sports." "A player has to play continuously and hence is unable to meet the mandatory guidelines. I will speak to Kerala Chief Minister and Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) office in New Delhi to seek their intervention to accommodate this player and change the rules," added the Minister. Goel reiterated that the Government was always committed to the welfare of players and their overall conditions and added that he would monitor such cases. Goel also said that if players faced any issue, he/she was free to directly contact him for redressal of his/her issues. UNI RSD KU SNU 2013
