New Delhi, Feb 3 (UNI) Mumbai teenaged batter Pranav Dhanawade, who became the first ever cricketer to amass more than 1000 runs in an innings said he played his normal game without thinking of the milestone. Playing for KC Gandhi school, the 15-year-old hit a brilliant unbeaten 1009 at a strike-rate of 308.56 in an inter-school tournament last month. “I gave my best for the team during the tournament rather than thinking for my individual score. I was not nervous when I was about to reach to the mark of 1000 runs and played normally,' Pranav told UNI. Inspired by batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, Pranav hopes to meet the legend from his home state. 'Sachin sir is my idol and I am a big fan of him. Wish if I could meet him one day,' said the Mumbai boy, who was conferred award last night by a news channel here. He also said Mumbai Cricket Association(MCA) has announced a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per month for five years to him after becoming the first batsman in the world to notch-up a four-figure score in an innings. Pranav’s father who is an auto driver said, “My dream was to become a cricketer but I couldn’t due to poverty. But I am hopeful that my son will fulfill my dream and play for the country”
