“We (Indian Army) have spoken to them (PLA) through the hotline and they have already promised that they will be looking into the matter and will leave him immediately,” Tezpur-based Defence PRO, Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande said.
Calling the detainment ‘a normal procedure’, he said that the boy’s release will take time, at least 7-10 days. “There is a normal procedure for that. And once the procedure is over then they will hand him over to us,” he added.
The teenager was allegedly abducted by the Chinese PLA from inside the Indian territory at Lungta Jor locality under Siyungla area (Bishing village) of Upper Siang district while on a hunting trip. His friend Johny Yaying (27) escaped from the PLA and reported to the authorities, Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao had said on Wednesday. UNI TD SSP
