Itanagar, Jan 21 (UNI) The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has assured that it would release the 17-year-old boy from Arunachal’s Upper Siang district, Miram Taron, who was allegedly detained by them on Tuesday last, a Defence spokesman said on Friday.
“We (Indian Army) have spoken to them (PLA) through the hotline and they have already promised that they will be looking into the matter and will leave him immediately,” Tezpur-based Defence PRO, Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande said.
Calling the detainment ‘a normal procedure’, he said that the boy’s release will take time, at least 7-10 days. “There is a normal procedure for that. And once the procedure is over then they will hand him over to us,” he added.
