Pizza - on delivery on trains but no arrangement for informing Stn Master of ongoing work on tracks: Congress

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Taking a swipe at the NDA government, the Congress today said while the Railway Ministry had introduced facility for 'pizza-on delivery' on trains, it had not provided any arrangement for informing the station master about the ongoing repair work on the Railway tracks, something that could have averted the accident on the Utkal Express on August 19.
Addressing reporters here, AICC spokesperson Ajoy Kumar said while there had been a 70 per cent increase in prices of railway tickets in the past three years and the Railways had started services like providing a pizza on the train facility, there was no facility for the person repairing the railway track to inform the station master to stop the train movement due to maintenance of the railway track.
''Railways have hiked fares by 70 per cent. You have facilities like the pizza on delivery on trains. However, there is no facility for the person repairing the railway track informing the station master about the ongoing maintenance work. If it had been there, the tragedy due to derailment of the Utkal express could have been averted,'' Mr Kumar said.

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) In a bid to encourage passengers to exercise their democratic right to vote in the parliamentary elections, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday launched a campaign for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, scheduled to be held on April 26.
