New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off Kathgodam-Dehradun Naini-Doon Janshatabdi Express on Saturday to provide additional services between Kathgodam and Dehradun stations.
Mr Goyal kicked off the 12091/12092 Express through video conferencing from Rail Bhavan, a statement said here.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Goyal said, “The new train will connect two important destinations for tourism -- Dehradun (Mussorie) and Kathgodam (Nainital). This new train will also bring development to the region as it will connect important business cities like Rudrapur & Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.”
He added that the new train will help daily passengers who travel on this route and want to reach home same day. He also congratulated the people of Uttarakhand for the launch of this new train service.
The train will run on five days -- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Express will depart from Kathgodam at 0515 hrs and reach Dehradun at 1230 hrs. From Dehradun, it will depart at 1615 hrs and reach Kathgodam at 2350 hrs.
Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board; Girish Pillai, Member Traffic, Railway Board & other senior official were also present on the occasion.
