Piyush Goyal denies Telangana Minister's charge of discrimination

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (UNI) Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has denied Telangana Minister T.Srinivas Yadav's charge that the Centre was discriminating against Southern States in the budgetary allocations for Railway projects.

Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T.Srinivas Yadav made the charge at a function where Mr.Goyal laid the foundation stone for satellite terminal at Charlapalli Railway station.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for satellite terminal at Charlapalli Railway station here on Tuesday, Mr.Goyal siad during the UPA regime Rs 258 crore had been allocated, while the NDA government in its 2020-21 budget had allotted Rs 2,602 crore.

He said with the help of the states, Railway projects would be completed soon and added that the Minister (Mr.Yadav) should be sure of facts before making charges.

Union Minister for state for Home G.Kishan Reddy said that Rs.221 crore had been sanctioned for satellite terminal at Charlapalli R ailway station. He wanted the MMTS be extended upto the temple town of Yadagirigutta.

Mr Yadav assured all s help from the state for satellite terminal at Charlapalli railway station and second phase of MMTS.
He also charged that Railway Ministers concentrated more on their own states.

Mr.Goyal also dedicated a host of infrastructure and passenger facilities including electrification of the Yerragutla-Nandyal section at the function held at Secunderabad Railway station.
