Pinarayi writes to TN CM on damaged rice

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 22 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written a letter to his Tamil Nadu counterpart seeking immediate steps to prevent rice, damaged in the recent floods, sending back to the market in the State.
In his letter to Edappadi Palaniswami, the Chief Minister said the damaged rice, which was sold to Syrus Traders in Ernakulam, has been transported to Trichy from where it again sent back to Kerala market, Official sources said here on Tuesday.
Seeking urgent steps to prevent the damaged rice sending back to Kerala market, Mr Vijayan said the State Civil Supplies Corporation has taken steps to prevent supply of damaged rice here.
