Phillaur Assy incharge distributes smartphone to govt school students

Phillaur, Sep 23 (UNI) Phillaur assembly constituency incharge and former Punjab Youth Congress President Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary distributed smartphones to boys and girls of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) here in Phillaur on Wednesday.
The smartphones were handed over to 225 girls and 288 boys of 12th class under the recently launched Captain Smart Connect scheme of Government of Punjab. In total, 1843 students of 12th class would receive the phones in 29 government schools of Phillaur.
While distributing the phones to students, Vikramjit Chaudhary said that Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress Government had taken a historic and transformative step to provide smartphones to students of government schools, who were facing problems in continuing their education and accessing study material as the schools were shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic.
