Pew survey a testimony to Modi’s rule, popularity: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Terming the findings of a survey conducted by the American think tank, Pew Research Center as significant, the Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has risen unabated across the country during last three years and people’s satisfaction with the economy was at an all-time high.
“The findings of Pew Global research are very significant. After Modi Government came to power, people’s trust in government, democracy and confidence that the nation is in the right direction has gone up drastically,” Shah said in a series of tweets.
Survey findings said Modi’s popularity is relatively unchanged in the north, has risen in the west and the south and is down slightly in the east.
The survey also said, more than eight-in-10 Indians say economic conditions are ‘good’ in the country despite Modi’s decision to abolish high-value bank notes last November.
In a press statement, Shah sought to underline that during the three years of government, nobody lavelled corruption charges against Mr Modi.
In fact his tenure has seen an end to the politics of dynasty, asterism and appeasement and beginning of a politics of performance, he said.
The Prime Minister had started all inclusive 106 welfare Schemes for the dalit, farmers, the exploited, the marginalized and for women, the BJP Chief said.
The survey was conducted among 2,464 respondents in India from February 21 to March 10 this year.
