Petrol rates up by 7 p/l & diesel in range of 4-6 p/l

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Fuel prices registered an increase on Thursday after remaining stagnant for two days.

Petrol prices were increased by 7 paise per litre while diesel rates rose by 4-6 p/l.

In Delhi, petrol was retailing at Rs 70.12 per litre, a 7 paise increase from Wednesday. Diesel stood at Rs 63.95 per litre, a 5 paise increase.

In Mumbai, while petrol was valued at Rs 75.82 per litre, a 7 paise increase from yesterday's rate. Diesel price stood at Rs 67.05 a litre, a six paise increase.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol was retailing at Rs 72.38 per litre in Kolkata, a 7 paise increase from yesterday while diesel costs Rs 65.87 a litre, a 5 paise rise.

Petrol in Chennai retailed at Rs 72.84 per litre while diesel costs Rs 67.64 a litre.

In Noida, petrol was available at a price of Rs 70.09 per litre and diesel stood at Rs 63.42 a litre.

While petrol in Gurugram was priced at Rs 70.61 a litre, diesel was being sold at Rs 63.51 p/l.

As per the country's dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.

The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier, they used to be revised every fortnight.
