New Delhi, Jun 16 (UNI) Fuel prices again reduced for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday as petrol slipped by 6 paise per litre and diesel by 9-10 p/l, across major cities of the country.
Petrol price in Delhi was revised to Rs 69.93 per litre, as against yesterday's Rs 69.99 p/l, while diesel has been reduced to Rs 63.84 paise per litre against Saturday's Rs 63.84 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol was retailing at Rs 75.63 per litre, which was Rs 75.69 on Saturday. Diesel retailed at Rs 66.93 per litre against Rs 67.03 a litre on Saturday.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol was retailing at Rs 72.19 per litre in Kolkata, a 6 paise decrease from yesterday's Rs 72.25 a litre, while diesel costs Rs 65.76 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol retailed at Rs 72.64 per litre against yesterday's Rs 72.70 a litre, while diesel cost Rs 67.52 per litre against Rs 67.52 on Saturday.
In Noida, petrol was available at a price of Rs 69.94 per litre and diesel Rs 63.32 per litre.
In Gurugram, petrol was priced at Rs 70.46 a litre and diesel cost Rs 63.42 per litre.
As per the country's dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier, they used to be revised every fortnight.
