PESA Act, way for empowering tribal people: Guv Koshyari

Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Thursday called for the empowerment of tribal people through effective implementation of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act.
He made the appeal while virtually speaking at a day-long national level conference held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the PESA Act implemented in the year 1996.
Organised by Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, the event was also supported by Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
