Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday announced implementation of the Panchayat (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Act in the state, it was officially learnt.
“The objective is to empower gram sabhas. Forest dwellers will be provided title deeds and another campaign launched in this context. Minor cases against tribal folk shall be withdrawn. Adivasis not having pucca dwellings will be given leases under the Mukhya Mantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojana. A lakh backlog posts shall be filled by employing tribal youth. Centres for counselling such students will be set up in Jabalpur, Bhopal and Indore,” he said during his address at the Nehru Stadium in the state’s commercial capital Indore.
The occasion was a programme marking the martyrdom anniversary of immortal revolutionary Tantya Bhil – a symbol of tribal pride and identity.
