PERA to conduct Common Entrance Test for admission to pvt varsities

Pune, Jul 9 (UNI) Preeminent Education & Research Association(PERA), a collective of 19 self-financed varsities in Maharashtra, has announced to conduct its' Common Entrance Test(CET) as the State variant of these annual examinations are deferred owing to the COVID-19 crisis.
Citing the Private Universities Act, PERA President Mangesh Karad stated that they can admit students to various professional courses on the basis of CET conducted by their association.
He said, "Due to the pandemic, MH-CET has been postponed while the JEE CET was rescheduled. In order to speed up the admission process, PERA has decided to hold PERA CET-20 on July 31 and August 1-2."
"The test result will be declared on August 5 after which the students can apply for admission to private state universities," he added.
Speaking further, PERA Vice President Bharat Agarwal told, "The PERA CET examination will be conducted through an online proctored mode system. The last date of PERA CET online registration is July 28."
"On July 26 and 27, PERA will conduct a mock exam for understanding the online systems," he mentioned.
