People representatives have their key role to play and they voice the viewpoints of the people.
“It is unfortunate that political leaders are denied permission to participate in meetings organized to discuss public issues”, the local MP responded to a question on the denial of permission to the district Panchayat President K B Naseema to attend the COVID-19 review meeting held at the District Collectorate this morning.
Naseema, who arrived at the Collectorate this morning was sent back informing that only officials are permitted to attend the COVID-19 review meeting.
Responding to the abrupt cancelling of inauguration of a school building, through video conferencing, by himself last week, the former Congress President said he had no complaint but added that he is also a representative of the constituency like others.
On the Coronavirus preventive measures, he said it was unfortunate that the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan made a negative comment against the COVID-19 management in Kerala.
Barring a few shortcomings, the overall COVID-19 management in Kerala has been good and that of Wayanad, it is satisfactory, he claimed.
