People of Manipur resolve to protect integrity on Unity day

Imphal, June 18 (UNI) A senior civil society leader on Thursday said Manipur could witness a mass uprising on the scale of the historic June 18, 2001 movement if the Government of India fails to resolve pressing demands over separate administration, flag issues, and related constitutional arrangements within a reasonable timeframe.
Observance Committee Co-Convenor Santa Nahakpam said this while addressing the 25th observance of the Great June Uprising Day and Unity day at Kekrupat here.
He expressed serious concern over what he described as the government's approach of holding separate peace talks with different communities, warning that such a strategy risks deepening divisions rather than healing them. Santa urged authorities to take sincere and concrete steps to address both historical and present-day grievances, and to ensure accountability for all affected communities.

Imphal, Jul 16 (UNI) The festival of Chariot, Kang (Ratha Yatra) was celebrated today in a grand manner in Manipur. Devotees flocked to Shri Shri Govindajee temple to offer prayers as priests performed rituals to Lord Jagannath, Lord Bhalabhadra and Goddess Shubadra.
The Divine Lords and Goddess ascended the chariot attended by large numbers of people.
