New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Appreciating renowned legal luminary FS Nariman’s work for society and country, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said people like Nariman has made India proud with the knowledge and wisdom.
Senior advocate and jurist Mr Nariman was awarded with 19th Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Award for Excellence: 2018. The award is given every year to the person who has worked for the society since 1999.
“I would like to mention here that people like FS Nariman has really made India proud with his knowledge and wisdom,” Mr Naidu said while delivering a speech on former prime minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri here.
In his speech he also said, “Nothing is going to be added in his (Mr Nariman) glory. But his felicitation would be like inspiration for others.”
Mr Nariman has always served as a role model to the law practioneers and the jurisprudence around the world, the vice president added.
Talking on prevailing education system in the country, Mr Naidu said, “We must revisit our education system. There are so many people who are inspiring to us those include Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose among others. They must be added into our school syllabi.”
On electing persons for Parliament or state legislative, he urged the audience to chose the people on the basis of 4-C that include Character, Caliber, Capacity and Conduct.
