PDP expels Leh district president for demanding UT status for Ladakh

Srinagar, Oct 4 (UNI) Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today expelled Leh district president Tashi Gayalson from basic party membership after he signed a memorandum, demanding Union Territory (UT) status for Ladakh region.
A PDP spokesman said the head of the party's disciplinary committee, Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri took the decision against Mr Gayalson for going against his party.
"Mr Gayalson signed the memorandum demanding union territory status for Ladakh which is against the policies of the PDP. That is why he has been expelled," he said.

Pune, April 24(UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.5°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.
