Patna HC condemns 'zero' noise pollution report, orders scrutiny of marriage halls

Patna, Oct 10 (UNI) Patna High Court, in its continued monitoring of the noise pollution issue, sharply criticised the local authorities of Masaurhi for a report that claimed the sub-division was entirely free of noise pollution cases.
Hearing the matter, a single bench of Justice Rajiv Roy presided over the proceedings, which were attended by the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Kadamkuan, Pirbahore, and Masaurhi. Senior Advocate Ajay Kumar assisted the court as Amicus Curiae, alongside State Counsel Prashant Pratap.
The court expressed strong displeasure with the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and SHO of Masaurhi for submitting a report that documented zero cases of noise pollution. Justice Roy noted that such a report indicated a serious failure or unwillingness to enforce noise control regulations in the area.
