Parthiv, Juneja put Gujarat in steady position against Mumbai

Indore, Jan 11 (UNI) A couple of scintillating knocks by skipper Parthiv Patel (90) and Manpreet Juneja (77) lifted Gujarat to 291/6 at stumps on the second day of the ongoing Ranji Trophy finals against Mumbai at the Holkar stadium here today.
Gujarat, who still have four wickets in hand, have also taken a crucial 63 run lead against the opponents while its batsmen Chirag Gandhi and Rush Kalaria were unbeaten on 17 and 16 runs respectively.
Earlier, Gujarat started the day with two runs on board without any loss. However, it was not the kind of start that the Parthiv-led team would have wanted as openers Samit Gohel (4) and Priyank Panchal (6) were dismissed early.
