Parrikar chairs first Cabinet meeting in Goa

Panaji, Mar 17 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today chaired first meeting of the Cabinet after winning Vote of Trust on the floor of the House in the state Assembly. Addressing a press conference at Secretariat in Porvorim, he said, 'The meeting discussed the content of political speech of the Governor. The Governor would be reading her speech on March 23 in the assembly. The speech will contain main polices to be adopted by the government.' The Chief Minister said the Cabinet had decided to appoint Additional Advocate General Duttaprasad Lawande as Advocate General of the state. The Cabinet also discussed Mhadei issue, he said. Mr Parrikar said he discussed the issue of ban on sale of liquor within 500 meters along the national and state highways and the State Government would explore all the legal options. He said the Cabinet also discussed problems faced by commuters in Porvorim due to ongoing construction of Mandovi bridge. The meeting was attended by all the ministers besides the Chief Minister.
