Parole jumper, convict in multiple criminal cases arrested

Chandigarh, May 20 (UNI) In a major break through, the Haryana police has arrested a man, wanted in several criminal cases and had been on the run for the past nine years, in Rajasthan's Churu district.
According to police, the accused identified as Vinod Mitathal has over four dozen criminal cases registered against him in Haryana and Rajasthan, and carried bounty of Rs three lakh on his head. Recovery of three 9 mm pistols, six cartridges and nine cartridges of .315 bore were also made from his possession.
Police said that, Mitathal, a resident of Mitathal village Haryana's Bhiwani district, was wanted for several crimes, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and ransom. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in a case earlier but went into hiding after coming out on parole nine years ago. Court has already sentenced him in 12 different cases out of 49 registered.
