ParliamentPosted at: Jul 28 2016 6:19PM Parliament passes key CAMPA Bill; RS passes Bill unanimouslyNew Delhi, Jul 28 (UNI) Parliament today passed by a voice vote the crucial Compensatory Afforestation Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) Bill with the Rajya Sabha clearing the legislation unanimously.The CAMPA Bill seeks to create a Compensatory Afforestation Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) and a Compensatory Afforestation Fund (CAF). The authority is supposed to manage the funds collected as compensation for diversion of forest land for setting up industries, factories or infrastructure projects. The Bill was passed smoothly after Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave assured Members that concerns regarding dilution of Forests Rights Act would be addressed in the Bill which ''keeps in mind panchayat's Forest Rights Act''.
