ParliamentPosted at: Dec 16 2016 6:22PM Parliament passes Disabilities Bill, New law has 21 categories of beneficiariesNew Delhi, Dec 16 (UNI) Setting aside their month long political differences that had created furore and repeated adjournments, the Lok Sabha today unanimously passed the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2016 after several Opposition members, including from Congress and Trinamool Congress, hailed it as a "remarkable" legislation. "It is for the first time that the list of disabilities have been increased to 21 categories from seven," Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot said piloting the Bill.
