Paris Masters: Karen Khachanov stuns Novak Djokovic in final

Paris, Nov 5 (UNI) Russia's Karen Khachanov stunned incoming world number one Serbia's Novak Djokovic 7-5,6-4 to lift the Paris Masters title here on Sunday.
The 22-year-old beat the Serbian in one hour and 37 minutes to end the his 22-match unbeaten steak.
The Russian hit 31 winners to spoil Djokovic's celebration to return to the world number one on Monday with a record-extending fifth Paris title.
Djokovic was not allowed to settle into Sunday's final and was undone when Khachanov broke his serve at 5-5 before going on to win the first set.
Khachanov broke early in the second set and threw away three further break points in the seventh game, but was able to capitalise on his advantage and hold on for the win.
World number 18 Khachanov will rise to world number 11 on Monday and becomes the first Russian since Nikolay Davydenko in 2009 to win a Masters 1000 title.
'To finish my season like this is a dream,' Khachanov told the crowd in the AccorHotels Arena, after taking the biggest title of his career.
He further added, 'Djokovic an inspiration for the many titles he won and how he went through tough moments last year and came back to world No 1.'
'I don't feel too good today but I'd like to give respect to Karen for playing a great match today and he deserves to win,' Djokovic said, added that Khachanov deserves his trophy and I am sure we will see a lot of great matches from him in the future.
The 31-year-old Serb will still overtake Spain's Rafael Nadal at the top of the ATP World Ranking in men's singles on Monday.
On Saturday, Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in the semi-finals match. While in another semi-final, Khachanov defeated Alexander Zverev of Germany.
