Parents of child rape-murder victim oppose quashing of Goondas Act, grant of bail to accused

Chennai, Sep 14 (UNI) Parents of the young girl today
opposed the Madras High Court order quashing detention
of paedophile Daswant under the Goondas Act for raping
and murdering a seven-year-old girl Hasini at Mugalivakkam
in February this year and grant of bail to him subsequently
by a Sessions Court.
Quashing the order issued by the Chennai City Police

After the court quashed the Goondas act, Daswant filed

granted him bail last evening and was expected come out
of prison soon.
The young girl was reported missing and the Mangadu

Police arrested 22-year-old Daswant, an engineer, who
was the girl's neighbour for raping and killing the girl.

were away, had on February five lured the child while she
was playing outside her house and raped her.
When the girl screamed, her killed her, hid her body in
his house for a day, took it in a travel bag and threw it
under a bridge.
