Panic triggers after Manduadih express catches fire in Etawah

Etawah, Mar 13 (UNI) Panic broke out when Manduadih Express heading from Varanasi towards New Delhi suddenly halted at Bharthana station as one of its coaches caught fire on Tuesday morning.

Railway sources confirmed that one of the compartments of New Delhi bound Manduadih express caught fire when train left Kanpur Central railway station late on Monday night. Train was halted at Bharthana police station.

Railway technical department team rushed to the spot and corrected the fault following which train departed around 0900 hours from the station.

Passengers had informed about some burning smell emanating in the coach since around 0300 hours but it was reported around 0600 hours when the situation intensified. Train was halted at Bharthana station and senior officials were reported about the incident, they said.

Steel exporters demand govt intervention, as EC specifies 25 PC safeguard duty
