Panchayat workers appeale to make Manipur Child marriage free

Imphal, Feb 16 (UNI) Advocate Kshetrimayum Sarankumari Devi, Panel Lawyer of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) on Monday appealed to make people aware of the marriageable age.
She said a campaign “Child Marriage Free Gram Panchayat ” has started and asked all Panchayat members to be aware of the issue of child marriage. She said child marriage remains a social and legal concern with long-term consequences.
She was speaking during an awareness programme on the theme “Child Marriage Free Gram Panchayat” held as part of the ongoing Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) awareness campaign at the Keirak Keithel Lampak Community Hall in Kakching district.
