Panchayat polls: Health reasons for exemption from duty to be re-examined

Guwahati, Nov 14 (UNI) As employees plead health grounds for exemption from Panchayat election duties in Assam, the administration of Hailakandi district in southern part of the state has decided to cross-check before conceding to any such requests.
The deputy commissioner, who is also the District Election Officer, Adil Khan has ordered constitution of a medical board for examining the health condition of employees seeking exemption from Panchayat election duties on health grounds.
In an order issued yesterday, Khan has asked the Joint Director, Health Services, to form the medical board with experienced doctors for medical examination of the employees who have submitted applications praying for exemption from election duties on the plea of illness. He has ordered constitution of the medical within three days.
