Panchayat polls : Punjab declares holiday for workers on Dec 30

Chandigarh, Dec 27 (UNI) Punjab government has declared December 30 (Sunday) as holiday for workers of factories situated in the state to exercise their franchise in gram panchayat elections.
Stating this here on Thursday an official spokesperson said that the holiday was declared to enable the every workmen working in the factories to exercise their franchise in panchayat elections.
He also said that this holiday would be in lieu of their normal weekly holiday.
