Panchayat ghar set ablaze in south Kashmir

Anantnag, Nov 12 (UNI) A panchayat ghar was set on fire by miscreants in this south Kashmir district, a police spokesman said on Monday morning.
He said some miscreants set ablaze panchayat ghar at Brakpora Bulbul Nowgam in Anantnag on Sunday last night. Fire tenders were rushed from different areas to control the leaping flames, he said, adding that the building suffered extensive damage.
A case has been registered and proceedings initiated, he added.
Panchayat polls are being held in Jammu and Kashmir from later this month.

COVID-19-linked deaths decelerate in MP

Bhopal, July 10 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan underlined on Friday that the state witnessed a significant decline in the novel coronavirus-related fatality rate during the past week when 22 demises were reported from among 2,053 positive cases.
“Endeavours are continuing vis-à-vis ensuring superlative arrangements for medical care with the cherished objective of every patient’s recuperation. Thus far; 12,481 have recovered and survey of 66 per cent population completed under the Kill Corona campaign. As many as 55,799 samples were collected and 655 found to contain the pathogen. The state’s positivity rate is 1.17 per cent,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while reviewing the situation via videoconferencing at Mantralaya.
