Panasonic launches world's lightest Toughpad models in India

Hyderabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Panasonic, a leading manufacturer of mobile computing solutions, today launched three new models of rugged devices including world's lightest - Toughpad models of FZ-F1 and FZ-N1.

The company also launched Toughpad FZ-A2 tablet , also a lightweight (880g) and slim (16.4mm) rugged tablet with a fanless design and runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Enterprise Security from Android for work, said Mr, Vijay Wadhwan ( Panasonic India Associate Director System and Solution Business) and Mr Gunjan Sachdev (National Business Head, Toughbook and Toughpad Division) at a press conference on the occasion.


Toughpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 are fully rugged 4.7 inch handheld tablet with angular ID/2D Bar code reader, Android and windows devices that feature a quad-crore Qualcomm " Snapdragon: processor built for markets like Transportation and Logistics, manufacturing, Retail and Healthcare, they said.

The 10.1 inch Android tablet offers flexible business customization options suited best for an ideal mobile device for automotive workshops, filed work and showrooms, they claimed.


The total industry size in the segment was Rs 125 crore and grew by 20 per cent, they said and claimed that the Panasonic Toughpad enjoys a 65 per cent market share currently in rugged notebooks and tablets and with the launching of the new products in this segment, it is expecting 70 per cent market share in next 2 years.


We sold 10,000 units in last year and aims to sell 13,000 units in next year, they added.

The Anroid-powered Toughpad FZ-N1 will be available at a street price of Rs 99k (taxes extra) and FZ-F1 will be Rs 1.09 lacs (tax extra) while FZ-A2 will be available at a starting price of Rs 1.20 lac (excluding tax). UNI KNR CS 1633
