Panasonic eyes 5pc Indian market share by 2018

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Intending to become one of leading brands in the country, Japanese electrical giant Panasonic’s subsidiary Anchor Electricals is eyeing to float five per cent Indian market share on LED products by 2018 with an addition of 415 new products for architectural, industrial, hospitality, commercial and outdoor segments. Unveiling Panasonic LED luminaries today in the capital, the company sought expansion of its folio in the architectural and commercial luminaries space. Joint Managing Director, Anchors Electricals, Dinesh Aggarwal told UNI, "Our new range of Make-in-India products will address the needs of high end as well as mass lighting with focus on a quality product at a pocket-friendly price across the entire socio-economic spectrum." The commercial and hospitality luminaries are equipped with long operational life of 50000 burning hours, high surge protection of 2.5KV, wide voltage operating range from 80-330V, robust housing, energy efficient electronic drivers besides, "While the LED market is growing at 130 per cent annually, we expect an overall growth of 115 per cent in the lighting market", Mr Aggarwal added when asked on growth prospect. Anchor Electricals ended the last financial year with net sales of Rs 20.4 billion and it is constantly expanding its product range and growing market share in switchgear, lighting, indoor air quality equipment, ceiling fans, wires and cables.
