Islamabad, Sep 7 (UNI) Pakistan on Saturday averred that it had rejected a request by Indian authorities to use its air space for President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia.
According to PTV, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced that the decision has been approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Mr Qureshi told PTV that the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
In August, it was reported that Mr Khan was considering shutting down Pakistani airspace for India. A complete ban on Indian trade to Afghanistan through Pakistani land routes was also under discussion.
Replying to a question, Mr Qureshi said that he will be visiting Geneva later this month to attend the Human Rights Council meeting and may even raise the Kashmir issue.
