Pakistan pose an imposing 308/7 against SA

London, Jun 23 (UNI) Haris Sohail scintillating 89 off 59 (9 fours, 3 sixes), Fakhar Zaman 44 off 50, Babar Azam 69 off 80, and Imam-ul-Haq 44 off 58 helped Pakistan put up an impressive 308/7 in 50 overs against South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup at Lord's on Sunday.
Haris 50 came up in just 38 balls while Babar Azam went on to score his 14th ODI half century.
Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat with openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq gave a good start putting up 81 run stand for first wicket.
Their first wicket fell at 81/1 in form of Fakhar Zaman in 15th over when caught at first slip by Amla in Imran Tahir's spell. Fakhar Zaman chipped in 44 off 50 (6 fours, 1 six).
With Fakhar gone Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq added another 17 runs for second wicket, but in 21st over Tahir scalped his second wicket in form of Imam-ul-Haq caught and bold and became the highest wicket-taker for South Africa with 39 wickets in WCs, going past Allan Donald's 38.
Imam contributed 44 off 58 balls (6 fours). Meanwhile, Pakistan's 100 came up in the 22nd over.
With Imam's exit Mohammad Hafeez came in and along with Babar Azam played sensibly scoring 45 runs for 3rd wicket. The duo partnership was spoilt when Mohammad Hafeez was lbw by Markram in 30th over.
Mohammad Hafeez scored 20 off 33 (1 six). Pakistan wickets kept falling at regular intervals, but Babar Azam stood firm at the other end playing good innings and in 36th over completed his half century.
In 38th over, Babar Azam hit Morris for four bringing 202 for Pakistan after loss of 3 wickets.
With Hafeez parting another brilliant 81 run stand happened bewteen Haris Sohail and Babar Azam for fourth wicket.
But then in 42nd over of 2nd ball Phehlukwayo grabbed wicket of Babar Azam caught at deep extra cover by Ngidi. Babar 69 came off in 80 balls (7 fours). Pakistan lost its fourth wicket at 224.
In the 46th over partnership going smoothly between Imad Wasim and Haris Sohail the duo reached second-fastest fifty stand of the in this World Cup.
Babar gone, Imad Wasim and Haris Sohail put up another scintillating performance adding 71 run stand for 5th wicket.
Next in line-up was Imad Wasim who was scalped by Ngidi in 48th over. Imad 23 off 15 balls (3 fours).
In the 49th over Pakistan reached 300 run mark.
Ngidi's 2nd and third victims were Wahab Riaz and Haris Sohail in the last overs of the first ball and fifth ball. Wahab scored 4 off 4 while Haris came with impressive 89 off 59 (9 fours, 3 sixes).
Ngidi 3/64, Imran Tahir 2/41, Aiden Markram 1/22, Andile Phehlukwayo 1/49 were the wicket takers for South Africa.
