Pakistan: Police ready to stop long march in capital

Islamabad, May 23 (UNI) Police in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have started chalking out plans and strategies to stop the proposed 'Long March' called by former prime minister Imran Khan to the federal Capital, which will be followed by sit-in for indefinite time, The News reported on Monday.
Reports say that top police officers visited the sensitive locations of the metropolis including the Red Zone which has already been ‘containerised’ and surrounded with barbed wires and the sensitive points’ entry from Rawalpindi or IJ Principal Road.
It further said that the government will decide on whether to stop the mob or to allow them to enter Islamabad peacefully and stage sit-in (dharna),” or whether it decides to call in the troops under Section 245 or paramilitary forces to assist the civil administration for maintenance of law and order.
