Pakistan hell-bent to disturb peace in J&K: DGP

Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Saturday said that Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb the peace and order in the Union Territory.
“Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb the peace and order,” the Police Chief said while addressing a press conference in Rajouri district after arresting three LeT terrorists with a cache of arms and ammunition in the town.
The Police Chief stressed upon the officers to be alert and vigilant to thwart such nefarious attempts of Pakistan and said, "Jammu and Kashmir Police is accomplishing the goal of a peaceful environment."
He said the work done by the teams of Rajouri police and Poonch Police along with the Army and other security forces has set an example of inter-district coordination. Mr Singh visited the border district to complement the Rajouri and Poonch Police for the recent achievements.
He also chaired officers meeting, reviewed security, Law and Order, crime, militancy scenario and measures taken in view of COVID-19 of Rajouri and Poonch Range.
The DGP appreciated the achievements of personnel and security forces on terrorism and on the anti-narcotics front.
He said by arresting the terrorists and their associates along with arms and ammunition is always a big achievement as a probable attack has been thwarted and lives saved and added that similarly busting Narcoterrorism is a huge success thus the lives of our youth have been saved and the evil designs of funding terror activities foiled.
Complementing the officers for their work during the current year despite the COVID -19 threat, the DGP said, “We cannot lower the guard on the security front and added that lot needs to be done in future."
He highlighted that the public grievance system needs to be further toned up and added, “We are expected to perform better by monitoring things on daily basis and to stay within deadlines."
The DGP J&K directed the officers to work with enhanced synergy and coordinated efforts to uproot the terrorism, terrorist network and narco-terrorism in the Range. He emphasized upon the officers to strengthen the intelligence grid and ensure input sharing for sharp action by the forces.
He emphasized for regular interactions/briefing of the subordinates at different levels.
The DGP emphasized that Police Public meetings should be conducted on regular basis and said that people’s cooperation in the fight against narco-terrorism and other crimes is must. He directed jurisdictional officers to seek people’s cooperation in the fight against drug abuse and other social crimes.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,913

Bhopal, Oct 28 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,913 on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh where 15 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,69,271 with 788 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 25,987 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued late tonight pegged the number of active cases at 10,094 – a statistic that is providentially revealing a downward trend. Bhopal had the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 151 new instances, Indore 148, etc.

BJP plaint against Diggy, Krishnam

Bhopal, Oct 28 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhya Pradesh unit complained on Wednesday to the Chief Electoral Officer against Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh and Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Acharya made a certain comment on Tuesday while addressing a rally in Morena District’s Kolaras constituency and Mr Singh spoke objectionably while at a street-corner gathering in Mungaoli constituency, a BJP release alleged.
