Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif alleges ex-ISI chief Faiz Hameed, ex-PM Imran Khan masterminded May 9 riots, vows full accountability

Lahore, Dec 13 (UNI) Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif today embarked on a tirade against former ISI chief Faiz Hameed and PTI (Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf) founder – former Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing the two of being jointly complicit in the May 9, 2023 riots, which saw a nationwide spree of violence by PTI workers and supporters, after Khan's arrest.
Claiming that the riots were masterminded by the two figures, Asif vowed strict action will be taken against them and all conspirators, reports domestic media.
Addressing a press conference in Sialkot under heavy security, Asif spoke at length about the events of May 9, 2023 and the forces he claimed orchestrated the riots.
