Jammu, Mar 21 (UNI) Pakistani Army yet again violated the ceasefire on Thursday, twice in a day, along the Line of Control in Rajouri's district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier in the morning one jawan attained martydom in the cross border firing along the Line of Control in Sunderbani Sector.
“Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of Small Arms along LoC in Sunderbani Sector of Rajouri,” Defence spokesman here said.
He said that the ceasefire violation started in the morning and still continues, adding, “in Nowshera sector, the ceasefire violation started at about 1445 hrs while Indian Army is retaliating beffitingly to the firing.”
“Pakistan this morning fired unprovoked on the LoC with mortar shelling and small-arms firing in Pallanwala, Jogwan and Keri areas targeting forward Indian positions,” he said.
The Army retaliated the violation of the truce effectively and the exchange of fire lasted for some time.
The martyred Jawan was identified as Rifleman Yash Paul, 24, of Mantalai, Chenani, Udhampur.
An Army jawan was also martyred in the same area in Pakistan forces firing on Tuesday morning.
