Islamabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Hours after a special court acquitted Swami Aseemanand and three others on the Samjhauta Express Blast, Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Wednesday summoned the Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria to register 'protest'.
The Acting Foreign Secretary summoned the Indian High Commissioner to lodge Pakistan’s protest against the acquittal of all four accused, including Swami Aseemanand in the explosion in 2007, Pakistan Foreign office said here.
The acquittal of the accused - 11 years after the Samjhauta Terror Attacks makes a 'travesty' of justice, it said.
According to NIA counsel Rajan Malhotra, all the four accused Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary have been acquitted by the court in Panchkula.
The Haryana Police had registered a case, but the probe was handed over to the NIA in July 2010.
The blast on the train headed from Delhi to Pakistan's Lahore took place near Panipat in Haryana on February 18, 2007.
