New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Expressing surprise at Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan, an actor who is part of the James Bond Franchise, agreeing to endorse Pan Bahar Pan Masala, Bollywood actor turned MP Shatrughan Sinha today said he was pained by the iconic actor's fall from grace. In a series of tweets, Mr Sinha, a Lok Sabha MP from Patna Saheb, stressed that icons and public idols should not allow themselves to be used for promoting unsafe products which are also known to degrade the environment. "As a hard core anti-tobacco crusader and cancer awareness campaigner, I am pained by the iconic Pierce Brosnan's fall from grace," said Sinha. How on earth could Mr. Bond agree to endorse Pan Bahar? And that too after having sadly lost his own family members to cancer,’’ Mr Sinha tweeted. "Icons and public idols can't allow themselves to be used for promoting unsafe products which are also known to degrade the environment. This is a lesson for our illustrious Bollywood members and stars too. Tremendous sensitivity and maturity required while endorsing products,’’ he added. Pierce Brosnan has drawn flak from several quarters for his appearance in the Pan Bahar advertisement, forcing the actor to issue a clarification that appearance in the ad was not part of his contract with the company.
