Over 100 detained, five injured in Bolivia protest clashes

La Paz, May 17 (UNI) More than 100 people were detained and at least five injured as security forces clashed with anti-government protesters in Bolivia on Saturday amid a deepening economic crisis.
According to the country’s ombudsman’s office, "Police and military personnel carried out operations in La Paz and El Alto to clear roads blocked by demonstrators. Those detained were taken to police and military facilities, with 47 formally registered at police stations, including two minors aged 16."
The ombudsman’s office said five people were injured in clashes and received medical treatment.
