Over 10,000 toilets in 100 hours, Bihar's Gopalganj sets record

Gopalganj, Feb 22 (UNI) Bihar`s Gopalganj district has set a new record by constructing more than 10,000 toilets in only 100 hours.
District Magistrate Rahul Kumar said here today that the target was fixed for constructing 10,000 toilets in 100 hours but not only the target was achieved but the district crossed the target by constructing 11244 toilets within the stipulated time frame. He said that 10,000 toilets were constructed in a district of Telangana in 100 hours, but Gopalganj district crossed that target. He said that consistent efforts by officers and employees concerned made it possible to construct such a huge number of toilets in only 100 hours.
Mr Kumar said that Gopalganj crossed the target despite a ban on sand mining. He said that the district administration had launched a drive on February 01 for creating awareness about ill effects of open defecation by organising meetings for common people.
