Opposition’s narrow mindset exposed over failure to pass women’s reservation Bill: Saraogi

Patna, Apr 17 (UNI) Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi launched a sharp attack on the opposition after the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam could not be passed in the Lok Sabha, terming it an attempt to deny women their rightful place in decision-making.
Saraogi said here on Friday, that the opposition’s stand was not merely against a bill but against the rights, dignity and future of half of the country’s population. He alleged that this is a clear conspiracy to keep women away from the policy-making process, which the country will never accept.
Saraogi emphasised that the bill was not just legislation but a significant step toward empowering women politically, socially and at the policy level. He said that when the issue concerned granting equal rights to half the population, all parties should have united to pass it unanimously. However, he accused the opposition of missing this historic opportunity due to narrow political interests.
