Patna, Feb 22 (UNI) The opposition created pandemonium in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday demanding action against the Additional Chief Secretary of the education department KK Pathak for using abusive words against a legislator.
Soon after the house assembled for the day on Thursday, RJD MLA and former Education Minister Professor Chandrashekhar started showing a video clip on his mobile saying that Pathak had used abusive words in the video clip which he demanded to be played in the house.
Meanwhile, Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav began the question hour proceedings during which the opposition members termed the incident as the most serious one, trooped to the well. Shouting anti-government slogans they said it was a complete humiliation of the house and the announcement made by the Chief Minister on the floor of the house was not even being implemented by the officer KK Pathak.
Following the request of the Speaker, the opposition members resumed their seats after which Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said the announcement made by the Chief Minister in the house regarding School timings would be implemented and assured to look into if any order contrary to it has been issued at district level or not.
When the question hour was in progress Congress member Shakeel Ahmed Khan suddenly again raised the issue of KK Pathak saying that acting willfully Pathak has not complied with the orders of the Government and has used abusive words too.
Shouting slogans and demanding stern action against KK Pathak the opposition again came to the well but resumed their seats after shouting slogans for a few minutes.
To this, the education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said the issue of using abusive words by KK Pathak against a legislator was raised in the upper house on Wednesday and the opposition carrying the video in a pen drive had demanded to play it in the house which was objected given it being improper in the parliamentary tradition.
The Minister said the government would abide by the recommendations of the chairman of the state legislative council who has been authorised to see the video clip.
He said any clip can be displayed in the house only with the permission of the Speaker.
Dissatisfied with the statement of the Minister the opposition members again trooped to the well and created noise.
The speaker requested the members to resume their seats saying that the presiding officer in the upper house was looking into the video and asked the members to wait for the report.
Remaining dissatisfied, the opposition members walked out of the house.
The question hour, however, was completed amid noise and ruckus created by the opposition.
