Oppn an unity of farce: Maurya

Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) Calling the Opposition unity as a farce, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday said the Opposition parties are left with only one agenda- to remove Modi and therefore, are levelling false allegations against the government and the party.
''The parties, which are talking about Opposition unity, cannot think beyond their family and their personal interest while in BJP, a small worker, who might belong to any caste, can climb to the topmost post of the country,'' Mr Maurya said, while addressing a Backward conclave here.
He said BJP is working on the principle of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, while the Opposition has a motto of 'Kuch ka saath, kuch ka vikas,' which reflected in their policies, when they were in power.
''Can anyone forget the way previous government had made a select few districts as VIP where electricity was regular and infrastructure, including roads were the best. But in Yogi Raj all the districts are equal. There is no preferences on power supply and roads of all the districts are made gadhdha mukt (pot hole free),'' the Deputy Chief Minister said.
Talking about the achievements of BJP government, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formulated such policies, which are benefitting the poor of all caste and creed. The electricity connections are being given free of cost of all BPL families, while under the Ujjawala Yojana, poor women are given free LPG cylinders.
''His policies are aimed at benefitting poor and down-trodden. This is real vikas,'' he said.
